reported this week that Cherki's representatives have been in touch with United and Liverpool about a potential move, with the winger said to have a €22.5 million (£19m) release clause. Now, the player himself has confirmed that he will leave Lyon at the end of the 2024-25 campaign as he bid farewell to the French club.

Speaking to reporters after Lyon's 2-0 win over Angers in their final league game of the season, the 21-year-old said: "Thanks to OL, the coach, the staff, the president, my teammates and all people at the club."

Cherki has also attracted interest from Premier League clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, while European giants like Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on signing the French sensation, who can play on the flanks and as a number 10. In the 2024-25 campaign, Cherki appeared in 44 matches for Lyon where he scored 12 goals and provided 20 assists.
